About Me

My photo
Emily Hayes
I work in the Greater Manchester area as a freelance artist, teacher and workshop facilitator. I do workshops for all ages and people with different needs in Embroidery, Jewellery and Craft. These can be one off sessions, term based or a project. . From 2010 to 2011 I worked for St. Elizabeth’s Centre in their Jewellery Social Enterprise, where I ran workshops with adults with epilepsy and learning difficulties, this was with in a gallery setting open to the public. . In 2009 I trained to be a teacher, on my PGDE I worked alternative teaching settings; Rainbow centre - refugee centre, HARP - mental health art group and the Workers Education Association. . I studied Embroidery at University, where I was influenced by working with people in community settings such as, setting up knitting groups with Mind, working on gallery visits with Henshaws and travelling to India to volunteer in a textiles social enterprise Oasis. emily.hayes@live.co.uk 07749110191
